BREAKING NEWS: NO WORLD CUP FOR CAMEROON!

The Indomitable Lionesses have lost 2-1 to Portugal in the playoff final.

Portugal controlled the game in the first half and took the lead through Gomes.

In the second half, Cameroon came out of the blocks and attacked more. Further substitutions with the introduction of Onguene, Mbeleck and Abam piled the pressure on the Portuguese. Abam’s fine finish was ruled out for offside but with a minute of regular time left, Ajara produced magic, turning beautifully to fire with the left.

Portugal would, however, mount a dangerous attack, leading to a shot that caught the elbow of Estelle Johnson, and after a VAR check, a penalty would be given against Cameroon.

It was converted calmly by Carole Costa and Portugal carry the day and qualify for their first-ever World Cup.
