1 Aliko Dangote is a Nigerian from Kano state in Nigeria born April 10 1957 grand son to Alhaji Alhassan Dantata who died in 1955 and was the richest in west Africa at the time.
2 Aliko Dangote had always been passionate about business. Ignorer started in primary school where he will always buy sweets to come and sell to his fellow school mates and keep the profit and still he never ended there.
3 After graduating with a business degree from Al-Azahar university, Cairo, Egypt, he moved back to Nigeria and worked under his uncle Sani Dangote. After gaining business experience, confidence and working skills, he decided to start his own business. His uncle helped him with a sum of 500,000 naira loan to start hi own business.
4 In 1977, he later on started a business in Kano a state in Nigeria. He started his business with the trading of building supplies and also other trading commodities.
5 In 2003, he was one of the founders of Olusegu Obasanjo’s re-election bid which he contributed with the sum of 200 million naira.
6 He also contributed to the presidential library. In November 2011, he was awarded Nigerian’s second highest honour, Grand Commander of the Order of Niger [GCON] by Goodluck Jonathan.
7 He has always been talking of achieving economic growth in Nigeria and Africa at large and he tried doing that by investing most of his resources in Nigeria and across the continent.
8 He is known as a source of employment and increase to the living standard of many nationwide since he is known for having over 25 000 staffs who are making a living from the Dangote group of company.
9 Aliko Dangote was also among those who struggled for the fight against the spread of the Ebola virus in 2014. He supported with the sum of 150 million naira.
10 From 2013 to 2018making it a total of six years , Aliko Dangote was listed the most powerful man in man in Africa by Forbes. He was declared the wealthiest man in Africa the 85th wealthiest in the world with the net worth of about 13 billion of U.S dollars in 2020.
