On the 25th of December 2022, two children who were three years old died in a landslide in the neighborhood of Japoma Cocotiers in Douala lll, the Littoral Region of Cameroon.
These two children who came from different homes were reportedly playing on Sunday 25th December 2022, when the landslide instantly drowned them.
According to some witnesses who were present at the scene, the incident occurred when the children were playing and they immediately called the attention of their parents.
However, the Senior Divisional Officer of Wouri, Benjamin Mboutou paid a visit to the scene of the incident on Monday 26th December 2022 to inquire about the situation.
“The Senior Divisional Officer of Wouri called on the authorities of the Douala lll municipality to select the houses built in these dangerous zones while planning their demolition in the coming days, “he said.
Also, the families of the bereft have been left inconsolable following the painful incident.
